Gaffney: I wasn't wearing my seat belt

Dean admits he wasn't wearing his seat belt when he sustained injuries in a car crash in January.

Former EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney has said he is "very lucky" not to have been left blind or brain damaged after injuries sustained in a car crash last month when he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Gaffney appeared on television this morning with a large scar down one side of his forehead.

Speaking to Daybreak hosts Aled Jones and Lorraine Kelly about the accident, he admitted to not wearing a safety belt. He said: “I know I'm a naughty boy and it takes something like this – I always learn the hard way in my life.”

An Ode To Robbie

Take a trip back a few years to when Robbie left first time round in the latest Postcards from America courtesy of correspondent HZAnita.

An Ode to Robbie??

Okay. Not really.

But seeing Robbie on screen again has set my heart a-flutter. Not because of his great looks, intelligence, or urbane sophistication (although those traits are nothing at which to sneeze). In my part of the USA, Robbie has left for India a few short weeks ago. His job has been taken by Gus, but no one could ever really fill my Robbie’s shoes.

Sneak peak of Enders action in St Albans

EastEnders returns to St Albans to do more filming for Ricky and Bianca’s wedding

A chuch in St Albans was swarming with the cast of EastEnders on Thursday (28 January) as film crews captured the final shots of characters Ricky and Bianca tying the knot for a second time.

Camera crews took over St Peters Church in St Peters Street to shoot the final scenes of what promises to be the soap wedding of the decade.

Bianca and Ricky, played by Patsy Palmer and Sid Owen, first married in 1997, but were divorced two years following the feisty red-head’s illicit affair with her mum’s fella.

A Walford Thanksgiving

A Walford Thanksgiving.

So, here in the US, it is Thanksgiving season. This is the when we celebrate everything for which we are thankful by stuffing our faces with roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce.

All slathered in thick fatty gravy made from meat drippings.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

The Jacksons make a comeback

Lindsey Coulson, Natalie Cassidy and Dean Gaffney are all set to return to Albert Square in the new year.

Carol (Lindsey Coulson) will return to Walford to be reunited with her estranged daughter Bianca, and that’s bound to cause fireworks (as if you remember all those years back Bianca had an affair with Carol’s boyfriend Dan Sullivan).

Carol will also be joined by her daughter Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), and two sons Robbie (Dean Gaffney) and Billie (most recently played by Bluey Robinson).

You Brits don't know how lucky you are. Although that thought is never far from my mind, the recent Vicki Fowler storyline once again hammers that home with a vengeance.
