Tamwar strikes up an unlikely friendship in the wake of Afia's departure 

EastEnders star Himesh Patel has revealed Tamwar Masood is to strike up a "bromance" with friend Fatboy after his wife leaves him.

Tamwar is left broken-hearted when Afia quits Albert Square, insisting she's not happy settling in Walford. But Himesh told Inside Soap magazine his character's pal Fatboy will support him.

Himesh said: "I think Tam and Fatboy are set to have a lot more scenes together, which is great. Fatboy is good at cheering people up."

Moon Men will be winners, says Kirkwood

Enders Exec talks up his new arrivals.

The new Moon Men, brothers Tyler and Anthony who arrive in Albert Square in the coming weeks, have been described by Executive Producer Bryan Kirkwood as ‘a much-needed injection of testosterone.’

Speaking in the Radio Times, Kirkwood said, ‘EastEnders has a long history of successful fools – from Nigel Bates through Robbie Jackson, to Minty Peterson – but I want more men who are winners.'

The complete British Soap Awards shortlist for 2011 was unveiled today – revealing 16 nominations for EastEnders across all 15 categories.

The soap’s controversial cot death/baby swap plotline received a nod in the Best Storyline category. In their roles as grieving parents Alfie and Kat Moon, Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace have been recognised individually in the Best Actor and Actress categories, and jointly with Best On-Screen Partnership nomination.

Fatboy's Father Found

TV actor Colin Mace has been cast as Ashley Chubb.

Walford Web can reveal that television actor Colin Mace has been cast as Ashley Chubb, father to Walford’s Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb.

The actor, who has filmed five episodes of the soap, will appear on-screen in the springtime. Details surrounding the arrival of Chubb Senior are not yet known. It is thought however that Ashley has difficulties in his personal life and comes to stay with his son in Walford.

EastEnders are currently looking to expand Fatboy’s family, with the news that they are casting his father, Ashley Chubb, who will be appearing on screen in late spring.

Fatboy has been something of a mystery since his appearance as part of the spin-off E20, with little known about his family or upbringing.
