Barbara misses EastEnders cast

Ex-EastEnders star Barbara Windsor has admitted that she misses her former colleagues.

Windsor, who left her iconic role as Peggy Mitchell last year, revealed that the cast and crew are the only aspect of the BBC One soap she misses.

Speaking to the Metro she said: "I miss the camaraderie and my mates.

"I loved coming into work and seeing everyone, the wardrobe and make-up people and runners. I miss that. That's about it."

When asked about a potential return to the show she added: "I don't know. I don't think so at the moment. She just went off, didn't she?

Babs signs to host funny women Radio 2 show

Barbara is to front a new show on Radio 2 looking at female comics

Former EastEnders star Barbara Windsor has signed up to host a Radio 2 show celebrating female comics.

Barbara will look back at the lives and careers of British and US comediennes in a new six-part series.

Speaking of the series Robert Gallacher, Radio 2's commissioning editor, said: "We previously put a spotlight on some iconic British male comics. Now it's the ladies' turn."

Barbara Windsor has given an interview to The Vanessa Show on Channel 5 in which she explained more about her decision to leave EastEnders last year, because she was overworked and missing her co-star Larry Lamb.

Barbara and Larry made a formidable duo as Peggy and Archie Mitchell, but as we all know, Archie was bumped off when Stacey murdered him in the Queen Vic on Christmas Day 2009.

Bab's favourite Christmas present

Barbara tells about her favourite Christmas present - her engagement ring.

The former ’EastEnders’ actress - who has been married to Scott Mitchell for 10 years - revealed she was particularly thrilled when her partner proposed to her, as her gifts are not usually a surprise.

She eplained: "My best present was my engagement ring, which was lovely. Usually though, we go to Selfridges and shop together.

"My husband always gets me Guerlain Shalimar perfume, because I’ve used it since I was on Broadway. I’m known as Miss Shalimar."

Barbara Windsor gives her thoughts on the newly decorated Queen Vic.

In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Barbara Windsor has revealed that the new-look Queen Vic wouldn’t go down well with her alter-ego Peggy Mitchell.

In a recent storyline a huge fire ripped through the pub leading to Peggy Mitchell’s dramatic departure from the Square. The iconic soap boozer was then given a new look ahead of the soap’s move to HD.
