Since her striking debut last month, Lola Pearce has made her presence known to the residents of Albert Square. Not only has the tearaway been involved in some petty theft, teenage love triangles, and scraps during her short time in Albert Square, but her behaviour became the catalyst for grandmum Julie Perkins’ departure.

Danielle Harold talks Lola's attitude

Danielle Harold doesn't think her character, Lola, will be changing her ways soon.

EastEnders newcomer Danielle Harold has admitted that her unruly character Lola Pearce is unlikely to change any time soon.

Feisty Lola has caused a stir since arriving in Walford and last night viewers saw Jay badly injured after Lola caused destruction at the Arches.

Asked whether her character will calm down during an appearance on Daybreak yesterday, Harold said:  "I don't think so! She's got lots of attitude - I don't think she's going to lose that any time soon.

Cathy Murphy on leaving EastEnders

EastEnders departee Cathy Murphy is optimistic about future roles.

Cathy Murphy has said that she is not disappointed to be leaving EastEnders after less than 12 months because she likes to play a variety of roles.

Appearing on Daybreak yesterday, she said: "I did a year and that was great, I've had a real giggle. It's quite gloomy to watch and I think that's why people enjoy it, but it's not like that to work on. It's a real laugh."

Murphy made her first appearance as Julie Perkins in the soap in October 2010. Her final scenes air in tonight's episode.

Billy's shocked to find out what his granddaughter is capable of.

Billy and Julie go looking for their Granddaughter and when they arrive at the children's home a care worker leads them inside. While in the room a fight kicks off between two of the kids and Billy intervenes. Billy and Julie are both shocked when they realise that their granddaughter is actually the instigator of the fight...

Cathy Murphy is the latest actor to bow out from the soap

EastEnders star Cathy Murphy has left the show after almost a year of playing Julie Perkins.

Digital Spy confirms that the actress has already filmed her final scenes, which will air in the coming weeks.

Julie arrived in Walford in October of last year and after reconnecting with old flame Billy Mitchell, she stunned him with the news that the pair have a long lost son together.

Billy Mitchell's granddaughter has been cast

Danielle Harold is joining the cast of EastEnders to play Billy Mitchell's granddaughter, Digital Spy has confirmed.

Billy and his partner Julie Perkins are both stunned when they discover they have a granddaughter.

Although the news is initially a shock, they then decide to track down their relative and learn that she is living in care.

Billy's granddaughter is 15-year-old Lola Pierce, who has a sharp, cocky but likeable attitude.
