Joshua Pascoe, who plays Ben Mitchell is set to film his final scenes later this summer. He's been at the heart of one of the biggest storylines as we saw him bludgeon Heather Trott with a picture frame recently.

The news of his departures comes within days of his being arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault. He was released on police bail from Wimbledon police station.

In a report from today's Daily Star an EastEnders insider said: “Joshua was always going to leave at the end of his current contract due to his storyline.

Teenager Lola Pearce could soon be facing a 'Who's the Daddy?' dilemma.

The Daily Star reports that Lola, played by Danielle Harold, will realise that she's pregnant in a few weeks' time, and her grandfather Billy (Perry Fenwick) will be shocked to find out not long after.

A BBC source told the paper: “Lola is stunned when she finds out she’s pregnant.

“But the big question is who is the father? Not only does she sleep with Ben, she jumps in the sack with another Albert Square resident.”

EastEnders star Steve McFadden has praised the storyline surrounding his on-screen son Ben Mitchell's sexuality.

Ben, played by 16 year old Joshua Pascoe, will share a kiss with new friend Duncan later this week - but it soon becomes clear that he is desperate to stop dad Phil from finding out he is gay.

Speaking of his alter-ego's likely reaction to the news, McFadden speculated that Phil would not immediately accept his son's sexuality if the truth emerged.

The Mirror reports that Ben Mitchell will come out as gay in a future storyline.

Ben Mitchell is to come out as gay in a future storyline, a report in The Mirror has revealed.

The Albert Square teen, played by Joshua Pascoe, will reportedly reveal his sexuality after sharing a kiss with a boy named Duncan.

A source told the paper: "With his love of dancing and musicals, Ben was not cast from the same 'tough guy' mould as his father. It's ironic that Phil's efforts to turn his son into a mini version of himself backfire spectacularly when he encourages Ben to go boxing with Duncan.
