Following on from the triumphant Olympic weekend, EastEnders will be referencing the incredible success of Team GB in Tuesday night's episode.

In scenes filming tomorrow, EastEnders will celebrate the recent achievements with a scene between Jean, Tyler and Ray where they discuss how brilliant Team GB are and how proud they feel to be living in London - ust a stone's throw away from the Olympic Stadium. The scene will transmit on Tuesday 7th August on BBC2 at 7.30pm.

Michael (Steve John Shepherd) cracks after Kat Moon confronts him and reveals Jean Slater will be sectioned if he doesn't admit to conning her.

The gym owner tricked troubled Jean (Gillian Wright) into handing over thousands of pounds.

Evil Michael then went to drastic measures to cover up his deception and convince everyone Jean was lying.

But when Kat (Jessie Wallace) tells him Jean will be committed unless he owns up Michael has a change of heart.

Outgoing EastEnders actor Derek Martin has praised the decision to keep Gillian Wright in the soap.

Last April, it was reported that Wright’s alter ego Jean Slater was to be written out of the soap and viewers recently saw Jean admit herself for psychiatric care following her daughter Stacey’s exit from the Square.

However the popular actress was later given a reprieve and will return to the soap in the spring.

EastEnders’ Gillian Wright is to return to the soap after leaving at the end of the year.

The actress, who plays Stacey Branning’s mum Jean Slater, has landed a new deal with the show that will see her make a comeback in 2011.

Gillian was originally reported to be leaving the show along with her on-screen daughter, Stacey (played by Lacey Turner).
