Ross Kemp sets up new production company

The former EastEnders actor launches new production company, Freshwater Films.

Former EastEnders star Ross Kemp is setting up his own production company called Freshwater Films.

Broadcast reports that Freshwater will produce all of Kemp's future programmes for Sky, which were previously produced by Tiger Aspect.

The company will also work to develop emerging talent for similarly "hard-hitting, factual shows" for which Kemp has become renowned.

Ross rules out EastEnders return

Ross Kemp - winner of the TV Personality award at the recent GQ Men of the Year awards – who left the show in 1999, reprising his role in 2005 and 2006 has said he’s not interested in returning to EastEnders at the moment, but hinted that he’s still open to possibly returning in the future.



“They seem to be doing quite well without me”, Ross said.

Therefore, when Den returned from the "dead," I did not understand all of the uproar on the forums and in the British press. Being a viewer of American soaps, this sort of thing is not only common, it is expected.

Ross Kemp wants to return to acting

Ross Kemp has said that he would like to return to his acting career in the future.

The former ’EastEnders’ star, who now makes war zone documentaries for television, told ITN that he would like to spend more time at home pursuing acting projects.

Kemp said: "At the moment all I am trying to do is do the films we are commissioned to do to our best advantage."

Corrie loses out in top soap awards

EastEnders trounced rival Coronation Street taking seven prizes at the British Soap Awards, including the coveted title of best show.

The ITV programme won just four, including a Lifetime Achievement Award for Johnny Briggs who played Mike Baldwin in the long-running series.

Among the awards going to Albert Square were Sexiest Female for Louisa Lytton, who plays troubled teenager Ruby Allen, and her screen father Billy Murray, who plays Johnny Allen won Villain of the Year.

Viewers want Grant back on Square

Grant Mitchell has been voted as the soap character most television viewers want to see back on their screens.

The EastEnders hard man, played by Ross Kemp, was picked by one in five soap fans asked who they would most like to see make a comeback. Coronation Street legend Hilda Ogden took second place, with 13% of the votes, and the Street's Reg Holdsworth came third, with 8%.
