Rotten tree wrecks Diane's car outside her home 

Diane Parish told yesterday how a rotten tree fell on top of her car — minutes before she was due to collect her kids from school.

Diane, who plays Denise Fox, was left shaken when the roadside sycamore collapsed, “ruining” her black Audi and damaging the side of her house.

She claimed locals had lodged several complaints about the state of trees in her street, but that nothing had been done.

Diane, of Enfield, North London, said: “I’m so angry — it could have killed my family.

Ian's gone weak at Denise

Brace yourself Denise - is Ian on the prowl?

Tanya suspects that Ian may have a soft spot for Denise, so when he invites Denise to lunch she tells him that people are talking about them and she doesn’t want them to get the wrong idea. However, Ian tells her that he is not attracted to her in the slightest which insults Denise.

Parish: Lying has been bloody horrible!

Secrets and lies may have come easily to murderer Lucas, but not so for actress Diane Parish.

As the mystery surrounding Denise’s supposed death at the hands of husband Lucas came to an end this week, so did Diane Parish’s struggle to keep the truth about the storyline from her nearest and dearest.

‘It’s been worse for my mum,’ the actress revealed. ‘She doesn’t like to tell porkies and she’s been forced to lie to people she’s close to.’

‘In fact, I am drafting an email to everyone she knows, a sort of disclaimer saying, “My mother is not a liar!”

BBC defends EastEnders content

The BBC defended recent episodes of EastEnders after more than 250 people complained about scenes of sex and violence broadcast before the watershed.

A scene of domestic violence on August 4, in which single mother Denise Fox lost a tooth after being attacked by her ex-husband, drew 128 complaints. A passionate encounter between Carly Wicks and Jake Moon on August 1 sparked 129 complaints.
