Charlie Brooks has beaten former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts to win I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The 31-year-old Eastenders actress was crowned Queen of the Jungle in the first ever all-female final.

She told Ant and Dec that she felt "silly" after winning, adding: "I never expected this, not in a million years. Everyone's been amazing and brilliant."

Brooks was reunited with her seven-year-old daughter Kiki and said : "It is amazing to get to this point but I think we just want to be two princesses."

Charlie Brooks signs up to ITV1's annual humiliation

Charlie Brooks is swapping Albert Square for the jungle after signing up for I’m A Celebrity.

The actress, who plays Janine Butcher in the BBC1 soap, will be joined by former heavyweight boxer David Haye, 32.

Brooks, 31, is currently on a six-month break from EastEnders to pursue other projects and spend time with her daughter Kiki, seven.

A show source said: “Producers are delighted with this year’s line up. They feel that there is a really good mix.

Walford businesswoman Janine Butcher will soon fall pregnant, according to a report in the Daily Star Sunday.

The paper claims Janine, played by Charlie Brooks, will discover she is expecting a baby by Michael Moon (Steve J. Shepherd) in episodes due to air around Christmas.

An insider told the paper: “Janine is completely shocked when she finds out she’s pregnant. Her initial reaction is one of horror especially as she still doesn’t know whether she can trust Michael.

EastEnders legend Pat Evans will die from a massive heart attack on New Year's Eve, reports The Daily Star Sunday.

Pat - played by Pam St. Clement - will discover that she has cancer after collapsing in her kitchen. Doctors inform Pat that her illness is untreatable before sending her home to spend her final days surrounded by loved ones.

The paper reports that Pat's family struggle to accept the news and that her son David Wicks - played by Michael French - makes a surprise return to be by her side.

The complete British Soap Awards shortlist for 2011 was unveiled today – revealing 16 nominations for EastEnders across all 15 categories.

The soap’s controversial cot death/baby swap plotline received a nod in the Best Storyline category. In their roles as grieving parents Alfie and Kat Moon, Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace have been recognised individually in the Best Actor and Actress categories, and jointly with Best On-Screen Partnership nomination.

Lydia Simmonds recast after Tyzack withdraws from role

EastEnders confirm that actress Heather Chasen will now portray Janine’s grandmother.

It has been confirmed that the role of Janine’s grandmother, Lydia Simmonds, has been recast as Margaret Tyzack has withdrawn from the role due to personal reasons.

Bosses have announced the appointment of Heather Chasen in the role, and reshoots will be underway from this Friday to ensure that the new actress will appear as Lydia in next week’s episodes.

An EastEnders spokesperson told Digital Spy: "Unfortunately, due to a personal matter, Margaret Tyzack has had to finish filming earlier than planned.
 

Brooks praises new Enders storyline

Actress Charlie Brooks has praised the decision to cast Margaret Tyzack as her character Janine Butcher's acerbic grandmother Lydia.

Earlier this year it was revealed that stage actress Tyzack had signed up to play Butcher gran Lydia Simmonds; a woman known for her sharp tongue just like her granddaughter.

The character will be seen on screen next month as part of a new storyline involving Janine.

Surely some mistake

Reports suggest that Janine and Max are set to become EastEnders next hot couple!

Bryan Kirkwood has hinted at the possibility of Janine Malloy and Max Branning becoming an item in EastEnders, saying that "sparks would fly" if the two became romantically attached.

He went on to add, "Janine and Max are both brilliant characters and not dissimilar, so sparks would fly if they got together.

"You never know in Walford. After the storylines she's had lately, it's time for Janine to have some fun."
