A new Masood

Paul Sharma has been cast in the role of AJ, who is said to be a "cheeky chancer" who never misses an opportunity for excitement. AJ hopes to re-connect with brother, Masood but as they relive their childhood antics, Masood wonders if AJ is running away from something?

An Eastenders statement teased: "A bad influence he may be, but AJ is desperate to get back in touch with his family even if it means tip-toeing around an unimpressed Zainab. Using his trusty coin to make his decisions for him, AJ is the polar opposite to his control freak sister-in-law. Sparks will fly in the Masood household as the battle lines are drawn."

Sharma previously starred in Casualty and Doctors, and also worked with Nitin Ganatra on Meet the Magoons.
