Near miss for Diane Parish

Diane Parish told yesterday how a rotten tree fell on top of her car — minutes before she was due to collect her kids from school.

Diane, who plays Denise Fox, was left shaken when the roadside sycamore collapsed, “ruining” her black Audi and damaging the side of her house.

She claimed locals had lodged several complaints about the state of trees in her street, but that nothing had been done.

Diane, of Enfield, North London, said: “I’m so angry — it could have killed my family.

“It ruined my car but thankfully everyone’s fine.”

Enfield Council said they apologised to Diane but had not been made aware of the rotting tree.

A spokesman said: “Had we had a complaint about safety we’d have surveyed the tree the same day.

“We’ve now removed the damaged tree and are inspecting others in the street to confirm they are safe.”
