McFadden praises Sharon comeback

Steve McFadden on Letitia Dean's return to EastEnders

Steve McFadden has praised the decision to bring Letitia Dean back to EastEnders.

It was reported earlier this month that Dean is to reprise her role as Sharon Watts, making her comeback in the summer.

Speaking to The People, McFadden - who plays Phil Mitchell - said: "We've a lot of history in the show. When Letitia was here, it was the golden era of EastEnders.

"I'm happy about her returning. I reckon they must have some good plots in the pipeline for us."

Sharon's love triangle with Phil and his brother Grant in the 1990s remains one of the show's most memorable storylines.

McFadden added: "Letitia is a pretty lady so they'll probably put her behind the bar or give her a central storyline. Now she's coming back, I'm sure it will be brilliant."

Details surrounding Sharon's return are being kept under wraps but Dean has revealed she "cannot wait" to find out what is in store for her character.
