Womack for Britain's Got Talent?

Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack is being lined up as a new judge on Britain's Got Talent.

The Sun reports that Womack has been in secret talks with bosses of the hit ITV series and has impressed them enough to make a short list of contenders.

A source revealed: "Samantha is brilliant and the bosses love her. She's hugely popular as ten million people watched her every week on EastEnders - and she's got a fair old mouth on her.

"She's not afraid to call a spade a spade but she also had a down-to-earth approach that producers think will encourage acts. We don't just want the judges to slag people off."

Producers are looking for two new judges after Michael McIntyre chose to leave the show and David Hasseloff was reportedly dropped from the panel.

Womack left EastEnders earlier this year after four years in the role of Ronnie Mitchell.
