Stefan Booth confirms Greg return

Stefan Booth has confirmed that Greg will be back.

EastEnders star Stefan Booth has confirmed that his character Greg Jessop will be returning to the soap.

Greg recently made an abrupt departure from Walford after discovering that his wife Tanya had been cheating on him with her ex husband Max Branning.

However, speaking to Inside Soap, Booth revealed that he has reprised his role and that Greg will be returning to Walford.

He told the magazine: "There are still so many questions after the big reveal. I can't tell you too much but the door was always left open for Greg to return - and he does."

Asked whether Greg will show a nastier side following Tanya's infidelity, he added: "I knew it was Greg's job to be the nice guy and for him and Tanya to play happy families so Max could come along and ruin it. But it'd be cool to be the baddy - such fun!"

Booth also revealed that he has several new projects lined up beyond his brief return to EastEnders including film-work and a stint in panto.

Greg being nasty

So another nasty guy alongside Yusef, Michael, the returning Derek Branning and of course Phil <yawn smillie>. Kirkwood and the production team have no imagination to write for regular fairly decent nice guy characters such as Greg, Patrick or Ricky so he either axes them (e.g. Gary ), under-uses them (Patrick) or turns them into baddies (eg. Michael who was just an arrogant womaniser cheeky chap before Kirkwood turned him into a dark villain.)
