Amira returns to Square-up to Syed
Preeya Kalidas will be reprising her role as Amira Masood
Preeya Kalidas will be stepping back into her role as Amira Masood later this year, it was announced in the Daily Mirror.
Amira was last seen fleeing Albert Square while secretly pregnant with Syed’s child, following revelations about his affair with Christian. Now, as her estranged husband and his partner organise their up-coming civil partnership, it is reported that Amira will be returning to Walford to put paid to those plans.
The paper quotes a “show insider” who teases, ‘Amira left Walford a heartbroken woman. When she finds out Syed is planning to marry Christian she is furious.
‘Amira is manipulative and her presence looks set to turn the lives of the Masoods upside down.’
Kalidas, who left EastEnders early last year to focus on a singing career, will be back on set in the next few weeks and will appear on-screen in late autumn.

Interesting to see where they are going
I'm really interested to see where they go with this. I always had the feeling they were going to bring her back at some point, especially after Syed mentioned that he was technically still married to Amira. Also Amira was pregnant when she left, they were eventually going to bring that back into play at the point when it would cause the most drama between Christian and Syed, as well as with Syed's family. That's the whole point of TV and Soap drama. I love the actress who plays Amira and think that however they bring her back will be brillantly done, however I also hope they don't keep her on so long that it damages what little has been repaired between Syed and his family, or completely damage what Christian and Syed have worked so long and hard for and gotten to the point in which they are at now.
