The Future Looks Rose-y for Dot
Dot is to reunite with sister Rose later this year.
Dot tearfully says goodbye to husband Jim this week, but she won’t be on her own for too long. EastEnders has announced that the Walford stalwart will reunite with her estranged sister Rose later this summer.
An EastEnders source teases that Rose once had an affair with Dot’s then-husband Charlie Cotton, leading to a lasting rift between the sisters, and that Rose won’t be best pleased when Dot tracks her down to make amends. But is there another reason for her cold reception?
The long-lost sibling is described as flighty, fun, and not one to grow old gracefully, and will be played by Polly Perkins, the actress best known for her role as Eldorado’s Trish Valentine. June Brown and she previously worked together back in 1981, in BBC drama Rules of Justice.
“I am thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders, the show is a real British Institution with an extraordinary creative team,” Perkins said.
“I’m really looking forward to working with June again, who I have been friends with for over 30 years”.
