2011 sees a fresh challenge for Carol as she faces prison in a shock new storyline.
EastEnders’ matriarch Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) is to face prison after confessing to a brutal attack on her cheating lover Connor (Arinze Kene).
After two-timing Connor is attacked with an iron bar, Carol confesses to the shocking crime in a bid to cover up for the real attacker.
According to The Mirror, Carol will claim: "The whole situation’s my fault. Only right I take the blame."
The number one suspect for the attack is set to be Carol’s daughter Bianca (Patsy Palmer), who is making a temporary exit from the soap.
In recent weeks viewers have seen Connor two time Bianca’s mum Carol with her step-daughter Whitney (Shona McGarty).
A source added: "This affair could tear the entire Jackson family apart. No-one will forget Connor in a hurry."
