Two more additions to the Wicks clan

The Wicks clan is set to get ever larger this autumn, according to confirmed reports on the BBC’s website.

Actor Robbie Gee - probably best known for his role as wide boy Lee Graham in Channel 4’s Desmond’s is to make a guest appearance as Dexter, the boyfriend of Kim (Denise’s sister).

Kim will be played by Tameka Empson, who’s best known for her roles as Leah in the film Beautiful Thing and for her appearances in sketch show 3 Non Blondes.

Hannah Waterman’s new training regime

Hannah Waterman’s in training for next year’s London Marathon and has vowed to stop the ciggies.

Hannah writes a weekly column for Closer magazine in which she recently said:

"I’ve stopped drinking, and am not eating very much, so giving up cigarettes is next on my list of things to do before I die prematurely!

"I’ve smoked for ages, but my trainer Adam wants me to run the London Marathon with him next year and says I’ll need to quit if I want to do a decent time.

Daniella not axed - returning again next year

Actress Daniella Westbrook is set to return to EastEnders again next year for a FIFTH time.

Daniella, 35, who returned to the soap last week after nine years, has not been axed as reported in one paper.

But her storyline as Sam Mitchell will come to a dramatic conclusion at Christmas resulting in another departure.

The way will then be open for comeback No 5. Executive producer Diederick Santer said: "When Daniella and I first talked about her return, we discussed a particular storyline with a specific length of contract.

Hairdresser inundated with calls after EastEnders episode

A Worcestershire hairdresser, Lisa Edwards, was inundated with texts and calls to her mobile after her number mistakenly appeared on-screen during an episode of EastEnders this week.

According to reports in The Sun, during the episode, Ricky Butcher paused to look at his phone and saw that he’d received a new text from Sam Mitchell. Sam’s fictional text was shown on screen below the first line of two messages that Ms Edwards had sent to a friend and business client in real life.

BBC to air live episode of EastEnders

BBC One soap EastEnders is to broadcast its first live episode to mark the programme’s 25th anniversary next year.

Plot details have yet to be announced, but producers promised viewers "high drama and excitement" as a major storyline will be concluded.

The 30-minute episode will crown a week of special shows to celebrate Albert Square’s milestone birthday.

It will be broadcast live from the BBC’s Elstree studios on Friday 19 February 2010 at 2000 GMT.

Ross rules out EastEnders return

Ross Kemp - winner of the TV Personality award at the recent GQ Men of the Year awards – who left the show in 1999, reprising his role in 2005 and 2006 has said he’s not interested in returning to EastEnders at the moment, but hinted that he’s still open to possibly returning in the future.



“They seem to be doing quite well without me”, Ross said.

Superstar Steve swims for charity

EastEnders star Steve McFadden stormed through the chilly waters of Lake Windermere on Saturday to support the Royal National Lifeboat Instituation at the British Gas North Swim, completing the mile swim in 35 minutes - 10 minutes faster than his previous open water challenge.

On completing the swim Steve said, "The Great North Swim and swimming on Lake Windermere was exactly what I’d hoped for, a great atmosphere, a great day out, and raising money for a great organisation, the RNLI."

Fragile Stacey stunned by Bradders twice-over

Bradley drops a double-bombshell on Stacey in an upcoming episode of EastEnders and then learns one of Stacey’s secrets.

First up, he tells her that he’s planning to move to Toronto with new girlfriend Syd Chambers – a move that on the face of it, Stacey encourages, she’s then devastated when Bradley tells her that making her abort their baby was the biggest regret of his life.

The two of them have an emotional conversation when they end up locked in a room together during a game at Amira Shah’s party.

EastEnders scores award hat trick

EastEnders has picked up three prizes at the TV Quick and TV Choice awards, including best soap.

The BBC show won best soap storyline, for the episodes where character Danielle Jones revealed she was Ronnie
Mitchell’s long-lost daughter.

Lauren Crace, who played Danielle, also took home the acting award for best soap newcomer.

Coronation Street stars Simon Gregson and Katherine Kelly were awarded the best soap actor and actress prizes.
