Lucy has been gone for weeks. Ian and Jane have been tearing their hearts out and Peter is devastated, he has lost part of himself. Bobby doesn’t have a clue what is going on. Even Christian has shown sadness over missing Lucy and he hired a private investigator for the family. Yet Steven is living with this yet still hiding Lucy out at a caravan! The heartless brat.

How could he do this? Ian took him back into the family even after nearly killing Jane, stopping her chances of having children, grooming Lucy and holding Ian hostage for months making his family think he was dead. The recent story is very similar to the original one in which Steven returned. Grooming Lucy to believe what he wanted her to, kidnapping a family member and causing his family so much heartache with the disappearing family member. Yet it’s so damm gripping. Why? We know little much about Steven and his actual illness, actually I don’t think it’s been mentioned what mental illness he actually has. We know he has his sexuality problems and 2/5/08’th episode was very interesting as Steven claimed this was his reason for returning as Simon was disgusted with Steven’s sexuality and couldn’t accept it. But was Steven genuine in saying this? He isn’t genuine in his thoughts about Lucy or Stacey for that matter. But he does seem to be falling for Christian, his step uncle. His reaction to Christian turning him away was very interesting. Pretending Christian came onto him and ruining the current relationship between Christian and his family. Yet Steven knows what’s it’s like to be the outcast.

Yet still when I watch Steven I feel sorry for him. I don’t know why or how but I do. He is causing so much trouble for the Beale’s and has so many issues that need to be addressed at a later date but the current story though sensational is great viewing. I can’t wait to see the climax of the story, as it will be great viewing. I know many people have a problem with Sidwell’s acting but I think he has done well with all of his storylines and has been doing well with the current. I can’t wait to see his breakdown next week and the Pat scenes, Sidwell is at his best when Steven is “nuts”. The current Beale storylines just go to show what can be done with families rather than the usual lazy affair storylines that Harwood took too often e.g. Jane/Grant and Stax. Even though nuts Steven is leaving we also have Mad May returning and bitchy Janine returning to look forward too. I’m sure Tony will be around soon and he won’t be all their either, we he can’t be if he’s dating Bianca and of course Archie won’t be the most normal man in the Square. Lets hope Linda Collins is back soon to keep the Beale family on their toes! So that’s it for Steven Beale then. Bye…

Even though Steven is leaving this isn’t the end for the Beale’s. Christian has huge potential. While Bobby and Jane are forming a great relationship. Peter is a beautifully written character and really well acted, his scenes with Dot recently were great to watch, she seemed like the Gran he doesn’t actually have. Ian and Jane are tighter than any other couple in the Square, even Clare Bates with her blonde hair and big boobs couldn’t ruin this one. Lauren and Peter are great too. And well Lucy is…Lucy. I’m all for a Jay/Lucy relationship, mainly just to see Ian’s reaction.

Ps – Steven don’t forget your pills and Ian if a family member ever goes missing again you know who’s back from France, no not Diane Butcher but your mental son (Non biological son).
