Bianca’s the top mum?

Yahoo! recently conducted a poll, as it was Mother’s Day yesterday in the UK to see who the favourite television mums were.

Now, I’m not sure where the shortlist of characters came from, but how the heck did Bianca manage to get to the top of the list, and more worryingly, how did Sue Johnston get second place for The Royal Family? Maybe the other options in the list were just plain ridiculous, I guess we’ll never know.

Now don’t get me wrong, Bianca does have her moments of being a good mother - she’s been there for all her children at various points since returning to the Square, but she’s equally made some absolutely ridiculous choices along the way - getting them all to sleep in a bus shelter for example when they were homeless? Mmmm, yes that’s a fantastic way to bring up children.

It doesn’t take very long to find better parents, even in the world of EastEnders. Tanya Branning for example was a great mother to her children when she was in the Square before leaving last year. She made have made some strange decisions when it comes to her men, but at least the children didn’t cop it as a result.

And what about, the main mummy boiler herself - Jane Beale? Yes, none of the children are hers, but that doesn’t stop her loving each of them as her own, and being there for them. I don’t know how she’s going to be if things don’t go according to plan with Lucy’s baby.
