There’s been plenty going on here at Walford Web over the last few weeks. News has gone a bit slow, but that’s the summer for you, but it doesn’t stop us publishing loads of great new features.
Spotlight has loads of star interviews, courtesy of our crack team of volunteer journalists. The latest one to be published was with Shane Richie, just prior to his first day back on set up in Elstree. So, there’s no spoilers but it’s a cracking read.
Spotlight is also the first section to get a small facelift. The new version of the site that we introduced back in February has been a brilliant success, bringing us even more visitors than before (so much so that I’m having to think about whether to upgrade the server we’re running on!) But there were a couple of niggling things about the design, most of all the lack of a nice "top of page". So enter the revised look - a masthead image to each section and a bit more colour around the place (but still respecting the colour coding we introduced at the relaunch, orange = features, blue = news, dark blue = forums and so on).
Everything’s largely in the same place, the menu’s still at the top, common links are on the right and so on. We’ll be rolling the look out to more sections in the future.

We relaunched our site in February 2010. Since the relaunch we've found that most of the site looks and works really well, but the top of the page was a bit messy and uninteresting. We've changed a few sections as an experiment.
The menu at the top of the page is still exactly the same as on other pages of the site and everything else is largely in the same place as before. It's just a bit more colourful, and we hope it's more attractive.
