In detail

Peggy finds Phil on the floor, out of his head on drugs. She is shocked and upset and heads back to the pub where she tells Roxy that she is going for a lie down. Pat gets Peggy a drink, and Shirley enters, saying she needs to tell Peggy something. Peggy is furious when she discovers that Shirley knew Phil was taking drugs. Shirley blames Peggy’s mothering skills for Phil having turned out the way he has; Peggy retaliates by sacking Shirley and throwing her out of the pub. Peggy then heads back over to Phil’s house, against Pat’s wishes. Phil aggressively tells her to leave him alone. Peggy says she’s come to help, but he tells her to shut up. He calls her a nag, and asks if his father beat her because she was a nag. Peggy snaps and slaps Phil hard across the face. Afterwards Peggy feels apologetic but Phil throws her out of his house slamming the door behind her. Back at the Vic, Peggy tells Pat that she has pushed all her family away. Peggy talks to Ronnie and Roxy about Sam and says she hopes it isn’t too late to patch things up with her. Later, Peggy visits Sam in prison but Sam is frosty with Peggy and tells her that she doesn’t wish to see her again. As she stands up, Peggy is amazed to see that her daughter is heavily pregnant.

Meanwhile Carol tells Bianca that her date with Lewis was a disaster and she doesn’t want to talk about it. Later Bianca answers the phone to Lewis, who tells her to pass a message onto Carol, thanking her for a great evening. Bianca confronts Carol asking why she lied about the date. Carol tells Bianca that she’s put up defences as a result of being hurt by men in the past and is worried about what Lewis may soon expect, meaning sex. She feels she has let herself go and when Bianca tells her to turn the lights off, Carol storms out upset. Later Bianca makes Ricky tell her mum that he thinks she is ’fit’. Bianca soon gets jealous when Ricky flatters Carol. Carol later calls Lewis while Bianca grills Ricky about whether her legs are better than her mum’s. Ricky affirms to Bianca how much he loves her.

Elsewhere Heather finds a troubled Abi in the laundrette. Abi explains to Heather that she is upset about her parent’s new relationships. Heather comforts Abi, cheering her up. Back at Max’s house, Max tells Abi that if she changes her mind about Vanessa moving in, he will ask her to leave.
