Pat and Peggy are frantically searching for Louise, who has gone missing. Phil arrives at the Vic, discovers that Louise is missing, and then leaves again to search for her. Later, Phil is angry with Peggy and says he will blame her if anything has happened to Louise. When Pat suggests they call the police, Phil forcefully warns her not to. Peggy blames herself for Louise’s disappearance and fears that Lisa may have taken her. Peggy says that she is going to call the police, despite Phil warning them not to. Meanwhile, Phil drives around the streets, searching for Louise. He spots her walking out of a florist with a bunch of flowers for Lisa. He chases after her, pulls her back to his car, and angrily drives off. Louise tells him that she does like living with him but that she wanted to see her mum, which pains Phil greatly. Louise says Peggy told her that her mum wanted to see her. When Phil returns to the Vic he finds Peggy and Pat talking to the police about Louise. Phil is livid with Peggy and accuses her of trying to ruin things between him and Louise by telling her about Lisa, but Peggy insists that Louise deserved to know the truth. Phil explodes at Louise when she asks if she can see her mum and his flash of anger horrifies Peggy. Phil heads over to the drinks cabinet, he stares at a bottle of scotch, but doesn’t touch it. Peggy declares that she sometimes thinks he isn’t fit to be a father, to which Phil responds furiously by hitting her across the face.
Meanwhile, at Patrick’s, Libby tells Chelsea that their mum needs them and so she shouldn’t leave. Jordan is also feeling low; when Patrick suggests he invites some friends around, he says no one would want to come as they would think he was a freak, having read about his dad in the papers. Chelsea is feeling guilty; she later tells Libby to put Lucas’ stuff with the rubbish, giving her Lucas’ watch to throw out too. She tells Libby that she wants to look after their mum too and so has no choice but to stay. However, Chelsea then retrieves Lucas’ watch; she is not yet ready to let go.
Later, when Chelsea turns up at the Salon for work, she finds that all of her appointments have been cancelled and deduces that this is because people are judging her for Lucas’ actions. Chelsea goes to the allotments and smashes Lucas’ watch with the heel of her shoe. Chelsea returns home and tells Libby she can’t stay anymore, leaving Libby feeling angry and abandoned. When Denise arrives home, Chelsea, Patrick and Libby rush outside to meet her. Denise and Libby have a heart to heart, with Libby asking her to promise that she will never leave them again. Chelsea’s revelation that she is leaving for Spain the following day then leaves Denise stunned. In the park, Jordan tries to finish things with Abi, saying he doesn’t feel ready for a relationship; defensively Abi tells him that she was going to dump him anyway as she has already met someone else, an older man. They both agree to remain friends.
Elsewhere, Carol informs Whitney that Billie won’t be coming home at the weekend after all because he’s been refused his leave; Mo blames Syed when she hears that the Vic could be turned into a gay bar; Max is shocked when Tanya’s sister Rainie turns up on his doorstep; Carol, Whitney and Bianca visit the Army Recruitment office demanding to know why Billie was refused his leave; Whitney’s upset when she learns that Billie was not refused his leave and has already gone away with friends; Max calls Tanya and tells her that Rainie has turned up in the Square, and Lewis from the Army Recruitment Office is not put off by Carol’s abrasive attitude and hands her his telephone number.
